Introduction to Stroke
Today I am going to tell you something about the stroke. Unhealthy life Sedentary lifestyle is leading to the epidemic of non-communicable diseases like obesity, hypertension, diabetes, sleep disorders all these are leading to cardio vascular diseases including the stroke. Stroke is sudden decrease in the blood flow to a part of the brain or complete brain leading to the death of neuronal cells.
Stroke presents with a sudden onset of imbalance, decrease in the vision, facial asymmetry, arm weakness or speech difficulty, these are the common symptoms. The onset of stroke may or may on present itself with all of these symptoms. So, recognizing these symptoms is very important which we call as B.E. {F.A.S.T}. In this acronym the letter T stands for time onset which is important because the treatment for the thrombolytic or plot busting agents are time bound. The more time you spend in recognizing the symptoms the more you delay the treatment and more the neuronal cell death. So, the functional outcomes heavily depend on the time of onset.
